So I don’t think I’ll do this all that often, but today I want to promote an artist. Not just any artist, a female rapper. And for those of you who know me or those who don’t, take a glance at my last.fm profile; I’m not a big fan of the rap genre.

OK, enough prelude. I’ve been rockin’ the new MC Lars for the past few weeks and there is a track on there called “We Have Arrived“. MC Lars is always known to have special guests on his tracks and with the first listen I thought to myself, “Is that Lil’ Kim and Eminem?” and then another thought, “Nah, those name are way too big for Lars.” So curiosity killed the blogger, I looked at the track list again and low and behold two of the featured guests were names I haven’t heard of, k.flay and The Former Fat Boys. The Former Fat Boys are kickass as well, but we’ll ignore the latter for the sake of this article.

k.flay… who the hell is that? A quick Google search and link to her MySpace page had me blown right away. Not to play the race card, but wtf she is white? I mean this girl has a nasty, aggressive flow (her beats are just as sick) that I have never heard out of a white girl’s mouth before and she’s kinda cute to boot. A little more reading and wtf she went/goes to Stanford? Yes, the real Stanford, one of the top schools in the United States. This is what the world needs more of. All you scientists out there looking to clone people, I hope you consider k.flay as a prime candidate.

After last night’s 6-3 loss to the lowly Atlanta Thrashers, I think its safe to say that Ottawa is done. No Hope, no dreams, it is now just time to enjoy the last 8 games of the season and remember how painful summers are without hockey. Embrace these last games as some of the fan favorites, like Jarrko Ruutu and Chris Neil, may be gone after this season. The 2008-2009 season for the Senators was one most would like to forget, but maybe this was the funk Ottawa needed to get back in gear. I hear that Ottawa is now close to offering Clouston an extension which he fully deserves. I look forward to the changes that will be made this offseason and a very successful 2009-2010.
